Erin On Gardasil Watch
Submitted by village on Thu, 08/14/2008 - 15:23.There's another danger on the horizon. It's not entirely unique. Vaccines in the past have caused an uproar because their administration has been connected with varying problems such as autism. So you see, it's not that unusual for a vaccine to be known as a "loaded gun." What is this latest "loaded gun?" It's Gardasil.
What is a "loaded gun" anyway? The expression implies something that is a weapon, armed, ready to go off. But what makes the expression is the inference that a loaded gun is a weapon that could go off at any time, not necessarily aimed at the place where it should be aimed, but without warning, spontaneously, like a hidden land mine waiting to detonate unexpectedly.

An EWG investigation revealed that safety standards from chromium-6 – the “Erin Brockovich” chemical – had been skewed by a faked cancer study.... Media coverage led the Environmental Protection Agency to stop registration of all residential uses of a wood preservative containing chromium-6, keeping a potent carcinogen from entering the bloodstream of millions of unsuspecting children, homeowners, and workers.

Call for Erin
Submitted by village on Fri, 05/16/2008 - 11:03.ERIN HELPS RIVERSIDE
Erin is currently investigating the high rate of cancer, and high blood levels of hexavalent chromium in the residents downwind of the TXI Riverside Cement Plant.
Multiple carcinogenic emissions and pollutants are in the "white dust" cement plant emissions that descend on residents. Currently there is no monitors in Rugby gauging toxic pollutants and metals being emitted constantly.

Mold Poisoning Symptoms
Submitted by angelontheair on Thu, 07/24/2008 - 20:34.Since a double diagnosis of mycotoxicosis, people often question why we have different symptoms. Symptoms vary from person to person because we're all unique individuals. No two people have the same genetic make-up or immune system. The type of exposures and time exposed have to be taken into account. But if you are suffering from a myriad of symptoms which no one can seem to figure out you should think about your environment. Be it your home, school or workplace, mold infestation is causing serious illness across the nation. Are you in a water-damaged building? Do you notice stained ceilings? A leak in the air conditioner unit? Do you notice you feel better when you are away from your environment? Do you feel worse when you return?

Please resend this email to the Los Angeles Times (robert.lopez@latimes.com) and then send this on to ten other contractors and so on, so we can let the press know how honest contractors feel.
Thecontractorsside.com
Read with interest your story on unlicensed contractors being busted.
This is of interest to legitimate contractors everywhere, however, I do not see and have not seen one
article anywhere, in any publication, that gives favorable mention to the contractors who slug it out
every day in a tough business.
Contractors already know that unlicensed contractors hurt the business, but reports of this nature
tend to tar all contractors with the same broad brush. In this state, contractors operate under the

MCS - A Real Disease
Submitted by angelontheair on Sun, 06/01/2008 - 22:35.MCS affects millions of Americans with debilitating health effects. Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it isn't real.
Remember, just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. If someone mentions to you they have an environmental illness, sickbuilding syndrome, multiple chemical senstivity or mold poisoning, take them serious. Most who suffer from such illnesses already feel hesitant to talk about it because people often look at us like we have a big spot on our forehead. Surely, we are making a great big deal out of some little allergy! Nothing could be further from the truth.

MEMORIAL DAY SPECIAL
Submitted by thecontractorss... on Fri, 05/23/2008 - 07:20.Congratulations
Thank you for your interest in contributing to the Mommie Hammer Project.
We, as contractors, are taking a solid step towards getting early diagnosis of breast cancer
via paying for mammograms for women who cannot afford them. Mammograms either detect
the first signs of the disease, or they ease the minds of women who suspect they might have
breast cancer. Both are good things.
Here are the details:
The minimum contribution we ask is $25.00 plus $3.00 for shipping and handling. You may
contribute more if you'd like, or you may buy more than one item. Please include
your business card so we can put your information as a contributor on the Honor Roll of
thecontractorsside.com. Please contact Heather @ 818 264 9931.

Category: Jobs, Work, Careers
Punch List:
The Mommie Hammer Dutch Auction closes tomorrow. Don't wait get on eBay and make your bid. Any figure over $25.00 is going to get a hammer, a $20.00 savings certificate from thehardwarecity.com, a listing on thecontractorsside.com Honor Roll.
Top ten bidders get named by name on HomeTalkUSA.
I might mention that there is coverage on this story by The New York Times, The Washington Post, and
The Los Angeles Times. They think we'll tank on the Mommie Hammer, and frankly, with the way they've
been covering contractors lately, I think they're wishing we will.
Dontcha just hate when the punch list is just one item that you've been meaning to do, but you just
haven't gotten around to it?

EVERDAY HEROES
Straight-up people in the construction trade, the ones who work everyday in a rough and sometimes difficult business have banded together for a rare and fairly public task. They want to have an effect on the terrible ravages of breast cancer.
Under the leadership of thecontractorsside.com, a widely disparate and independent group of competitors has allied from their own numbers to raise money for mammograms. This money is targeted specifically for women who may be of high risk and who need early detection.

CONTRACTORS NAIL BREAST CANCER
Submitted by village on Wed, 04/30/2008 - 05:37.CONTRACTORS NAIL BREAST CANCER
In celebration of its first year of operation and in association with its member contractors, thecontractorsside. com, announces its "Spring Thing," by conducting an Ebay auction of "Mommie Hammers," proceeds to go to The National Association of Breast Cancer Awareness. The donations have been designated for mammograms for women who cannot afford them.
thecontractorsside. com believes the best solution for the problem of breast cancer is early detection.
The Mommie Hammer has a pink handle so there's no mistaking to whom the hammer belongs. It is a durable, quality product that in no way resembles a bouquet of flowers, but it will remind the user every time she picks it up that the giver was thinking of her when it was bought.

Hexavalent Chromium Again!
Submitted by village on Tue, 04/29/2008 - 09:15.TXI Riverside Cement Co
RUBIDOUX - TXI Riverside Cement Co is responsible for elevated levels of hexavalent chromium in the air and received violations on April 14 and 20.
Erin Brockovich and the Los Angeles-area law firms Masry and Vititoe, and Girardi and Keese will be holding a community meeting today at the Marriott Hotel in Riverside geared to setting up a system for the residents to air their concerns.
Residents of the nearby El Rivino Road Apartments believe emissions from the plant are responsible for local health problems.
Residents complain of bloody noses, body rashes, sores and 16 cases of cancer within a mile of the cement company.
Corrosive dust plumes from the pant eat at the local resident's cars.

Autism - Treatable, Not Curable!
Submitted by AutismSolutionCenter on Sun, 04/13/2008 - 09:39.One of the questions I get quite often from parents and professionals alike is regarding the ability to cure autism. I thought I would post the question and the answer, to help clarify our opinion on this topic. Hope it helps!
Laura :)
Question:
I am a little concerned about you saying Autism is curable, yes with intense ABA (use of VB, NET, Social Skills etc) a child can look more like typical peers, but they are still autistic even if they no longer manifest criteria set by DSM. I have been a professional in the field for quite awhile and I have seen great mainstreaming and children who have made lots of success, but they still need some support. Look at Temple Grandin she is such a success story, but still requires some support.

Question: My son was started on several medications to help control his behavior and attention issues and I can’t help but feel guilty, thinking there must be another way. Are there other options available besides medications?
Answer: First, let me state that I’m not a doctor and can’t give medical advice, so you need to discuss your questions with a qualified health professional. Having said that, let me express my opinion on this situation I am seeing all too often.

Autism Services Cut - AGAIN!
Submitted by AutismSolutionCenter on Thu, 02/21/2008 - 07:58.This article is one of many illuminating the dire state of families who have children with autism. Though autism is treatable and with appropriate intervention the vast majority of those with regressive autism can become indistinguishable from their peers, states are continuing to cut services because of high costs.
The question I continue to ask is would we rather pay now, or later? If we pay now for 2-4 years of service, these individuals have a good shot at a normal life as contributors of our society and economy, no longer requiring special services at tax payer expense.
