Patriot's Toolbox Introduction
My name is Miranda Barker and I run the website Patriot's Toolbox. Our purpose is to be there for activists on all social justice issues to help guide them and share ideas on what we can do to make change. Our site includes links, separated by state, for all media (newspapers, TV and radio stations),important govt. departments and websites, state codes and constitutions, social networking sites, events by state, and links to various other social justice issues. We have also started compiling sections with "crash courses" in government and how the different process work. For example, the election process and how laws are changed.
We had done some volunteer work in the past and saw that people were frustrated by not knowing how to promote their cause, get things changed, or even know how the different government processes work. We also noticed that there were many of these things that we didn't know ourselves or at least didn't remember from fourth grade, until we ran into them during our own volunteer work. So we built a place where we could help people understand how things work, what we found to be most effective , while sharing ideas with others who have been there on the things that worked best for them so we can all work together to guide each other.
The site is user created and we ask everyone while browsing our site to also submit any ideas that you may have or any tools that you believe would be important to other activists so that we can post as much information in one place as possible. Your very own online toolbox with the things you need to change the world.
If you need help for your cause or have any questions about finding info that you need or sites that may be helpful to you, please check over our site and if what you need isn't there, please email us and let us know. We will attempt to find the info for you and then post it on our site, because if you needed it, chances are someone else does as well! Now let's get together and make a difference!
